【雅思口语P2】Describe a handmade gift you gave to your friends

When I was 8 years old, I wanted to prepare a gift for my elder sister’s birthday. My sister has always been an important person for me, she has been taking good care of me since I was little. I was wondering what kind of gift should I made to give her. I loved her so much and I hoped that I could make her happy on her birthday. At that time, birthday cards were so popular but a bit pricy for a little girl. Since I didn’t have any pocket money to buy those splendid birthday cards, I decided to make a card for her. And making a card was not that difficult for me because I was not good at craft. I asked my father for a piece of cardboard and a pair of scissors. I cut the cardboard into a proper size, and used my crayons to draw a sun, some colourful flowers and a puppy on the card since my sister liked puppies. I also wrote down the birthday wishes for her. I did all these things in secret and my sister didn’t know that until I showed her this handmade gift. She was so happy and gave me a hug. She told me that this handmade birthday card had been the best gift ever and I felt so proud. Although it’s not a pricy gift, it had been a priceless gift.
