Task:Some children spend too much time watching TV.What do you think caused this and how to solve the problem

Today a large number of youngsters are attracted by TV programs and they often spend excessive time on TV watching. I believe this trend can be damaging to these children’s growth and it is necessary to figure out how to address this problem.
One drawback associated with watching TV excessively is that it has an adverse impact on children's study and can even make them less interested in participating in other wholesome outdoor activities. TV watching can easily distract their attention from school assignments, particularly when they are not supervised by their parents. They are normally so addicted to those programs that pay little attention to their learning tasks, which may lead to poor grades. Besides, too much time on TV will probably affects children's participation in some interactive activities such as reading, singing or communicating with others which are good for their brain development.
What is worse is that excessive time on TV viewing will harm children's physical health. They would more like to sit in front of TV and keep their eyes on the screen for hours than to go outside and play sports with their peers. As a result, there is a high possibility for them of suffering obesity, poor eyesight and fatigue, all of which can make them less energetic in schooling and lose their confidence in learning over time.
As excessive TV viewing affects young generation negatively, it is of importance to take measures to mitigate this problem.one effective way can be to impose time limits on their watching TV. For example, parents can tell their children that they can watch TV for 1-2 hours only after they have finished their homework, which is able to protect their eyesight and encourage them to study. Apart from this, parents can also choose to take their children to the outside and play games with them, this can shift the attention of these kids from TV programs to exercise and is beneficial to their physical and mental health.
In conclusion, being addicted to TV viewing is harmful to young children. To solve this problem successfully, parents plays an important part in supervising and helping the youngsters.
