行文思路

首段改写题目，并直接提出自己观点，觉得让孩子自主阅读更好。第一个主体段先讨论父母阅读的好处：可以让孩子更加容易的获取知识，因为父母可以在阅读的过程中为孩子解惑。段落中运用了解释说明和举例等论证方法。

第二个主体段转折，提出，阅读的意义绝不仅仅是为了获取信息，通过孩子自主阅读，可以培养孩子的学习自主性，并且孩子可以广泛地阅读。注意第二个主体段内的两个点是并列关系。

结尾段用让步状语从句总结观点，尽管父母读会更容易获取知识，但是自主阅读的意义更加深远。

In current society, people are cynical about whether parents should read stories to their children or let children gain information through books, TV and movies by themselves. In my opinion, it is a better method for children to obtain information through their own efforts.

On the one hand, the outcomes of reading by parents can be very rewarding, through which children can acquire knowledge more easily and smoothly. That is to say, in the process of reading, parents may provide children with detailed explanations. For instance, when children are confused about the differences of pandas and bears, parents can explain the differences from habits and characteristics, and through this, children can gain a better understanding of knowledge and maybe foster the love of reading.

However, the purpose of reading books or watching TV is never just confined to acquire knowledge or information. Apart from this, children can develop their autonomy in information obtaining and since this process is self-paced they can develop their time management skills and personality such as persistence, all of which is beneficial for their future study and career. What is more, a large number of parents are so busy that the time spent on reading for their children is limited and if children read books or watch TV, movies by themselves, they are more likely to read extensively and they will be more prepared when they encounter any problem in other fields in the future.

To sum up, while it is much simple for children to acquire knowledge if their parents read for them, I believe students can benefit more in the long term if they develop the skill of reading independently.
