Task:The first chart shows the number of people per kilometer square of six countries in 2003. The second chart shows the percentage change of population in urban area of the six countries from 2003 to 2005.
Find the important features of the two charts, and make a comparison between them.
Sample answer:
The given bar charts compare the difference of population density in six countries in the year of 2003 and illustrate the population changes in these countries during the period of 2003 to 2005. It can be seen clearly that Japan ranked the first in density of population and Sweden was the only country that experienced negative population growth.
As is revealed in the first chart,Japanese lived much more closer to each other with a total of 338 people living in one square kilometer, followed by British and Italy. By contrast, the population density in Australia and Canada were quite low(both were 3).
The second chart indicates that the period from 2003 to 2005 witnessed an overall upward trend in population across the board with Sweden the only country bucking the trend. To be more specific,Australia and Canada experienced the most dramatic increase by 1.42% and 1.06%,respectively,while there was a less significant raise in other three countries.
Overall, even though Australia and Canada had relatively low population density, their populace were soaring with an astonishing rate.
