Last year, my grandfather got a stroke （中风）unexpectedly. My younger sister and I decided to give him a show to remind him of something since he was tired every day and seemed to have forgotten many things. After discussion, we chose to sing some cheerful songs for him because both of us have been in choir （合唱队）for many years and we have learned many songs which might stimulated my grandfather’s memories. It was a weekend in January, milking snow whirling （婆娑）around outside, like angels dancing with the songs we sang and bringing messages from the God. Both of us were wearing costumes in bright colors since we knew our grandfather was fond of bright colors. I sang an old song which I thought my grandfather had heard about it. Then my sister sang a popular song with cheerful rhythm. I still don’t know whether our grandfather can really understand the lyrics in those songs, but I do know that he was glowing with happiness then and clapped for his dear grandchildren sincerely and proudly. I guess this is the reason and the returns we got from preparing the songs because no matter how much we desired in studying and career, the final goal for us is to ensure that our family are happy and healthy. Therefore, I’ve developed the habit of calling my parents regularly to be informed the condition of my family members and let them know that I really care about them.
