Line graph description of IELTS scores:
The line graph presents the average IELTS scores of test takers from 6 different countries over a period of 10 years. The countries include Brazil, China, India, Japan, South Korea, and the United States.
Overall, the trend in IELTS scores was upward over the ten-year period for most of the six countries, except for a slight dip in scores for India and Japan towards the end of the period.
From the graph, it can be seen that the average IELTS scores for China and South Korea showed the most significant increase over the 10-year period. In 2010, the average IELTS score for China was around 5.5, while in 2020 it increased to 6.5. Similarly, South Korea showed an increase from an average score of 6.0 in 2010, to over 7.0 in 2020.
In contrast, the average IELTS scores for India and Japan decreased slightly between 2015 and 2020, before showing a slight increase again. In 2015, the average IELTS score for India was around 6.0, but it decreased to around 5.5 by 2020. Meanwhile, the average IELTS score for Japan dropped from around 6.5 in 2015 to roughly 6.0 in 2020.
The average IELTS scores for Brazil and the United States showed a slower and steadier increase over the ten-year period. Brazil started with an average score of around 5.5 in 2010 and climbed to over 6.0 by 2020. Similarly, the United States started at an average of around 6.0 in 2010 and saw a gradual increase to roughly 6.5 by 2020.
In conclusion, the line graph clearly shows that the average IELTS scores of most of the six countries have improved over the past decade. The significant increase in IELTS scores for China and South Korea is noteworthy, while the slight decrease in scores for India and Japan requires further investigation.
