In New York, the number of passengers during the morning peak hours was around 3 million, which is almost three times higher than the number of passengers during the evening peak hours, which was around 1.2 million. Similarly, in Tokyo, the difference in passenger numbers between morning and evening peak hours is significant, with around 2.6 million passengers during the morning peak hours and around 1.6 million during the evening peak hours.
