城市化对文化带来的影响

each civilization experiences the process of being born, culminating and decaying. there is an ever-increasingly strong declaration that the variety of languages and cultures on the earth are fading into history at an astoundingly fast pace. the extinction of languages and cultures is may possibly caused by many kind of reasons - wars, natural catastrophes, infectious diseases. i would like to present two main reasons for the loss of them.

as we can see in newspaper and tv programs, the world globalization is the chief cause for the death of minor cultures and languages. due to the fast development of modern vehicles, the ever-increasing international commercial and trade connections among countries provide the best chance for the mainstream ideology and language to intrude the traditional ones.

take the famous international corporation macdonald for example. since the first macdonald was opened in beijing, in 1980, there have been nearly thousand of branches have been built in just 20 years long time. indeed, the appearance of macdonald has brought chinese a lot of benefits from delicious fast food to new conception of international enterprise. meanwhile, it also changed the structure of chinese traditional diet and lifestyle. the greasy fast food caused several social problems, which have the typical american characteristics such as overweight and waste of food. therefore, a single enterprise presents us the very tremendous influence, be it negative or positive, the globalization has brought to the traditional culture and language.

besides the extrinsic reasons for the decay of traditional cultures, it might be noted that the intrinsic shortage of this language or culture is also the important matter causing this phenomenon. aboriginal languages in some region only comprise of limited characters, which cannot well express all the meanings people want to communicate. and, some native customs or habits was too ferocious or lake of support of science. with the vast pressure from outside, it cannot resist the intrusion of modern civilization and is heading towards disappearance of its language culture.

taking into account of all these factors, we may reach the conclusion that according to the fast steps of globalization and some objections weak cultures and languages natural had the loosing of it is inevitable. perhaps, now, nothing is more important than collecting the multimedia data and goods to demonstrate that a certain civilization has experienced birth, culmination and decay on the earth.
