What do you think are the benefits of swimming (or, the benefits of knowing how to swim)?
I'm really into swimming. I had learned swimming in my primary school.
I think it's really difficult for me.I am little afraid of water, and my movements are not standard till now, and some time, I cannot avoid swallowing water.
Chinese people usually swim in swimming pools coz swimming in the pool is much safer, you know, there are loads of potential hazards in the ocean, people are afraid to step on the poisonous marine life.
It's gonna be very different, cuz scientifically speaking , sea water has a higher density than the fresh water in the pool which effects our buoyancy, we will float better because of the higher density in the sea. And what’s more, there is current in the sea, obviously it is harder to swim against the current or waves at least.
Yes, I can. We were taught swimming when I was in Class VIII, in my school. It was compulsory for us to learn swimming at that time, and I am thankful to the school to teach us.
Yes, there are few public swimming pool in our city. One of them is very close to my house. There is also a big indoor sports complex in our city, wherein there are two or more swimming pools. Also, some outdoor swimming pools available, but one can use them only in summers as they are very cold in the winters.
Surely, yes. I think it is very important these days. A person who knows swimming can actually go on and enjoy a different aspect of life i.e. water. Like, if you go on to a beach with your friends, you can enjoy yourself with your friends. Even more, it is very helpful for security reasons and I think it is very important for children to learn it.
Yes, I do. More now than in the past – I wasn’t so keen on it when I was younger, but since I’ve been here I’ve been swimming a lot more.
Okay, well, back home people don’t really swim that much, except when they’re children. We used to swim in the river near our home, especially when it was very hot. Here, it’s different – we have a swimming pool in the apartment complex where were staying, so I probably swim about three or four time a week because it’s a great way to relax, and it’s good exercise too.
It’s popular with children and young people, but not so much for older people.
I guess it could be because it’s relaxing and it makes you feel good, and it’s also a super way to cool off when it’s really hot, like it is here at the moment.
So, knowing how to swim is important, especially for children if they live near water – it could literally save their life if they fell into a river or something like that.
As for benefits, well, it’s great exercise, full cardiovascular benefits for your heart and it’s also low-impact exercise so people of any age can do it without risk of damaging their joints. And of course, it’s a great way to have fun at the beach with friends – or as we do – at the pool when we’re relaxing.
