Freerice.com is a charity giving website I frequent nearly every day. It is a non-profit one that is owned by and supports the United Nations World Food Programme. Freerice has two goals: Provide education to everyone for free. Help end world hunger by providing rice to hungry people for free.
Basically it provide a vocabulary game, and for each answer you get right, the website donate 10 grains of rice through the World Food Programme to help end hunger. To play the game, click one of the four definitions about a given word that you think is correct. If you get it right.Your donation of 10 grains of rice is automatically counted without any further action required on your part. You will get a chance to play another question in the same way. You can play as long as you like and donate as much as rice as you like. You can even join or create groups to strive for the top ranking of donation.
Why do I like this website? After I played Freerice for a while, I notice a strange phenomenon. Words that I have never consciously used before will begin to pop into my head while I am speaking or writing in English. Fundamentally, I make a difference by playing Freerice. It is said that by me and the thousands of other Freerice players, millions of people have been fed since the game launched in October 2007. If we all do a little we can achieve a lot!
